Artist Chris Hewitt

to be simple, it’s an exploration of materials and ideas. i love the process and find that i need to get lost in it. i’m happiest in that state of mind. if i become aware of the solution too soon in the art making, i lose interest and have to start over. i try to keep it hidden until very near the end.

my wood working shop is in the barn which has stone walls and a timbered ceiling. it’s a great space but i have to share it with the cats. i work in there when i can. when nothing is pressing on the farm. i always have a long list. i look forward to rain days.
